A man died Monday after he was struck by a New Jersey Transit train in Union County, officials said. At 2:11 p.m., a train on the Raritan Valley Line that had departed Newark Penn Station about 30 minutes earlier struck a man at Plainfield Station, officials said.

Two trains collided on the Montclair-Boonton line. One carried passengers and crew – another had crew members aboard.
