We observed a predation event this week, likely involving a Northern Elephant Seal. There were multiple sharks feeding on the carcass. The juveniles are the preferred prey for white sharks due to their manageable size and rich blubber reserves. Typically we use top side photography with zoom lenses to capture the dorsal fins that surface. These data were collected under permit MULTI-2023-002-A1.
